How to resize icons for using with AmiStart ?

For example, I want to add DoomAttack to the right of "Buffers list" but it's very big !

So, beginner question, how to make good icons for AmiStart ?

Hi Michael and welcome to Forum!

First of all, backup your AmiKit config file "sm.prefs" located in AmiKit:Utilities/EXPANSION/AmiStart drawer.

You might also disable autosaving of AmiStart config to prevent accidental changes - right click on the "AmiKit" button and unselect "Auto-Save Preferences".

Regarding the icons - use 64x64 or 48x48 size for the icon images. They look the best in AmiStart. You can create an icon simply by renaming a PNG image file from .png to .info

A basic scaling - small/big - icons is done by AmiStart itself. Right click the entry in AmiStart and select or unselect "Small" option.

If you need to resize icons, you can either resize its PNG source in any Paint program (and thenjust rename it to .info file) or if you want to resize an icon in AmigaOS, you can use AmiKit:Tools/IconEditor (not IconEdit. Just don't forget to resize the 2nd state image too

Thank you Jan. Just to say, thank you also for yesterday's discord. Remove 3.1.4, using my KS/WB from my Amiga Forever 8 CD, it's way better. Again some little crash (like every Amiga ) but it's better now.

There's no AmiStart in the Vampire version. It's in Windows/Mac/Linux edition of AmiKit.

What you're referring to is a DOpus StartMenu, actually But you can still apply what I wrote before about renaming PNG and/or resizing with IconEditor.

Good to hear that it works better with AF system files!

And make sure to make an ISO out of the card, just in case

Yes, that was the first thing : make an ISO (your documentation is very good). The "official" CF is in her box ... forever

Oh, a suggestion : add fixhddsize if it's possible. With this tool, I can use all my 64 Gb CF
