060 CPU (WinUAE on Windows 7)

In AmiKitX, the AmigaAMP v. 3.22 (Amiga MP3 player) plays 192kbps quality mp3's with no problems, when choosing the 060 CPU, instead of the default 020 CPU in WinUAE.

With 020 CPU I could not get good peformance in AmigaAMP, but with 060 CPU I now only use the AmigaAMP player for mp3´s, not the RabbitHole/Windows7 mp3 player.

How to choose the faster 060 CPU in WinUAE for AmiKitX:

To edit WinUAE CPU settings:

(Close/Exit AmiKitX so WinUAE is not running!)

Open AmiKitX Launch window:

Click Configure button
In "CPU and FPU" > CPU:
Click the 68060

Save as a clone of your working config, but now with 060 instead of 020:

Click on "Configuration"
Click "Save As" button
type name like "060-setting-amikitx.uae"
Click "Save" button.
Click "Quit" button.

Launch AmiKitX with the 060 CPU:

Open AmiKitX Launch window.
Click Configure button
In "Configurations":
Click on your new setting "060-setting-amikitx.uae"
Click the "Load" button (make sure WinUAE now shows the title "060-setting-amikitx.uae" in the top title bar of WinUAE window, so the chosen 060 config has been loaded!)
Click the "Start" button.

Now AmiKitX boots up, just like your normal config, but now has a 060 CPU!

(I have posted about this before, but for improving the speed of modern AGA demos, but it works wonders for mp3's aswell, if you have problems with the playback in AmigaAMP with only the 020 CPU)

Faster way to start AmiKitX (if you use a custom AmiKitX config, instead of the default config) - Only 1 mouse click (instead of 3 or more)

Using a macro in Win 7, I "recorded" and then "playback" the mouse cursor movement and mouse button clicks, so I only click the macro program's "Play" button with 1 click, and then the macro program takes over and launches my custom AmiKitX config from WinUAE (which would take 3 or more mouse clicks if done by a human

This way it is just as easy and fast to launch a custom AmiKitX config (1 click - normally would be 3 or more clicks), as it is to launch the default AmiKitX config (1 click)

Saves some time and maybe some frustration lol

It's the most stable, simple to install, runs at full speed, has the true classic Amiga look and feel (via customization), has all the modern program you could want with RabbitHole (and RabbitHole just works with no problems, simple and easy to use and extend), really good forum and helpful community around AmiKit, the best and most precise presentation of what AmiKit is on the website (helps new users to quickly understand what it is, how to buy it and get back on the Amiga).

I know AmiKitX is the leading Amiga solution, because I recently tried to compare other popular Amiga packages to AmiKitX, but all other Amiga emulation packages/solutions are not as good as AmiKitX.

The other packages are far behind AmiKitX in terms of stability, usability, how easy it is to install/update, forum/community, how easy it is to understand what it does, how easy it is to download from their websites (not at all simple), confusing manuals/documents for their packages, and they are just not the same full/complete overall Amiga experience that AmiKitX gives you!

So I am very happy about using AmiKitX, thank you for making the best Amiga emulation experience ever! Fast, stable, simple to understand, uptodate, full Amiga experience!
