Well,

long time ago i was an "Amigan" with A1000 (the one with signs if you have a look under the head plate ) and followed the development path and spend many money in the following years. (books, hardware and such)

One day the Amiga fever ended because new systems came up and live has to go on. Sad days ...

Now, after more than 25 years from my first touch with Amiga i see it is still alive.

Today i have a PC running Linux and - bought OS 3.9. From my Amiga museum i got the related ROM files (A1000, A500, A600, A1200, A4000) - yes, they're all working!

I installed e-uae on my linux, downloaded Amikit 1.6.0, made the installation .... old feelings came back!

After installation, i installed Asm-Pro and compiled my old sources ... wow!

The Amikit Crew did a great job. You know what you're doing. The update to 1.6.1 was done in a sec without problems.

Folks, keep up the good work.

It's good to be back :D

I have to agree with Pappnase

I'm still having a few hiccups, as like Pappnase, after 25 yrs, you forget how to do things, but I'm still amazed at how AmiKit works, very well done !

Now if I could only figure out how to install Bars & Pipes Pro ( been trying for days ) I would be a very happy camper

Thanks very much for the offer but I've never used skype because I live 30 miles from the nearest town and only have an air card modem, which is not very fast

I am going to continue trying to install it later this week.

Paul.

I was in love with the Amiga many many years ago. Had an A500, A1000 and A2000.

But alas Commodore ran it into the ground and I went PC, but I still have my A1000 with the signatures inside the case

I bought the stick and it's brought it back to life on my PC and its a blast !

Some people think its the hardware that made the Amiga but it's OS was it's heart and soul, I wish they would port it to PC because a PowerPC Amiga or original with peripherals is just way to expensive but Amikit is the next best thing

So please keep up the fantastic work cause you folks rock !
