Running Whdload games I am getting distorted sound using either fullscreen or full-window.
If I switch to run games using windowed sound is ok. My system Windows 11 with Amikit 11.6.1
Please help

Hello, please try to switch from WASAPI to DSOUND in WinUAE Sound settings - before you start the emulation, not on the fly.

Does any other settings in WinUAE Sound tab make any difference?
Do you have the latest drivers installed on your Windows?
Does it behave the same on a different computer too?

Hi,
Tried all the sound setting options no difference. All the latest drivers are installed.
On my other Windows 10 home laptop sound works fine with same settings and works in fullscreen and full-window

Interesting. Would you be able to deliver 2 logs from those two computers so the author of WinUAE could compare them? Both with identical settings. You just need to enable «create winuaelog.txt» and «log illegal memory accesses» in WinUAE misc settings.

Got in touch with Toni Wilen Winuae author. Issue resolved. I had to go into the Miscllaneous setting and change
DIRECTDRAW to DIRECT3D 11. This resolved the problem

Thanks for sharing the solution. I would not think about such settings for sure. Glad it works for you now!

Same problem but on the macOS side. Unfortunately I can't switch to DirectX3D 11. As soon as I fire up AmiKit it switched back to DirectX 9. Please help.

My setup:
AmiKit 11.6.1 with AmigaOS3.9 patched Roms running on my M1 MacBook Pro Max, macOS Monterey 12.3.1

Have you tried to switch the sound driver from WASAPI to DSOUND first?

Yes, I tried literally everything including buffer settings
I closed AmiKit -> switched to DSound -> launch again -> playing a mod or started a game -> closed again -> set buffer higher or lower and so on...

Okay, what if you change the Frequency from 44100 to 48000 Hz in WinUAE/Sound settings?

Nothing changed.
My best guess is that it's a Mac related issue with the M1 MacBook Pro and Wine.

I remember that someone has ported AmiKit to FS-UAE. Will try and report back.

Ok, I followed this guide with great success to port AmiKit to FS-UAE:
https://espenskogblog.wordpress.com/2019/05/13/amikit-xe-on-fs-uae/

But I haven't had much luck with AHI and the UAE Sound option giving me no sound at all.
I've had to activate the Toccata sound-card in FS-UAE - but got no sound at all.

After much try and error I downloaded the Toccata drivers from here:
http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/toccata

Nothing changed - no sound.

More investigation leads me to this thread:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=76761

And there is a hint that an old Toccata library (v12) could do the job:
http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=994619&postcount=11

I just download the archive and copied the library to libs: and restarted AmiKit.
And now I can listen to great Amiga mods without any distortion running in FS-UAE on a MacBook Pro M1.

Wow, great, congrats!

Btw. please be advised that AmiKit updates might not work as intended because of missing RabbitHole and other differences.
