So been enjoying the newly release Amikit XE Pi Edition. I was hoping to make my Ami Lion app ( https://leavereality.uk/product/amilion-1-0/ ) for this program but ran into problem, (I think it might be Amiberry issue) related the program will run but when I click to basically change page its saying "Table field 1 was not initialized! in function: p_runevtlist", now I not been able to recreate this error on OS4, Amikit XE on Windows /WinUAE setup and Windows native version. I also tried it on Pimiga 1.5 same error.

The same error came up when I tried to run other Hollywood Demo too. So anything you can think of that the issue?

Also Amikit XE run on top of Manjaro Linux desktop xfce, ( https://manjaro.org/download/ ) I quickly tried to see if a Hollywood LinuxARM program would run, but it come up with "failed to execute child process" I quickly tried on TwisterOS ( https://twisteros.com/ ) and it run fine. Any ideas.

Finally Im really loving how well it all works, looking forward to the future I feel the pi400 in general is just about fast enough for modern desktop tasks, but when ever pi5 arrives and lets say its the usually 25% speed increase like it was from pi3 to 4 and they keep the same price then this will be amazing, the only thing that would be better would be a native port of AmigaOs to it (a man can dream!)

Cheers

Hello! Yes, it seems like Hollywood doesn't like Amiberry or vice versa. I had to remove some other Hollywood applications as well as they failed to initialise - while they all work in WinUAE.

I guess Andreas, the author of Hollywood, might tell more - especially if you send him the error messages the app generates under Amiberry.

Then, when we know the reason, either Hollywood or Amiberry (or both) can be fine-tuned.

Just found out it works when JIT is disable, but then it obviously very slow. So really hope Amiberry and devs can squash them bugs, but otherwise its a great package!!

Hello Amikit PI have now tested something, the Manjaro Linux is sometimes very slow in its movements,
but sometimes nothing works because the buttons do not react at all. You really have to be patient
There are strange effects when dragging the windows, hope that this can be fixed with an update.
If Amikit is running and the screen saver comes on, and then I want to start it up again with one press of the keyboard, nothing works anymore,
then just pulling the plug helps.

Hi Guenter,

please read Frequently Asked Questions at https://www.amikit.amiga.sk/raspberry

AHI audio system is not supported yet. Any Amiga application that uses AHI is silent, including AmigaAMP.

The "ghost" windows in Linux are known and also described in FAQ. You can "fix" it by enabling Compositor in Linux, but it also decreases the emulation speed a lot.

When AmiKit is running and you switch to Linux - what temperature is displayed on Linux taskbar?

Did you overclock your Pi4? Do you have fan and heatsinks attached? If not, your Pi might get too hot and slows down - or even crash.

Another reason for slow Linux might be old or slow SD card. I'd recommend USB3 or SSD instead. Or some really high-quality SD card at least.
