i have just purchased the rasberry PI4 (anticipating its arrival) and it has the Bluetooth and WiFi functions, will AmiKit work with it?

side question: I would like to set it up to be able to toggle between different Amiga Emulations... Thoughts?

Hi ShadowRider, and welcome to the Forum!

Raspberry Pi4 is a completely different CPU architecture than regular PC or Mac. AmiKit does't work on it. Yet! As soon as I finish Vampire port of AmiKit, I will start working on the Raspberry version. Stay tuned!

Thank you, I greatly appreciate it.

Meanwhile you can check AmiKit XE for Windows, Mac or Linux or free AmiKit 8 for Windows or free AmiKit 9 for Mac.

While it's not supported at the moment, you can run Amikit XE on the rPi4. The tricky part is copying over the harddisk image to a format that'll work with Amiberry, but after that the only things I had to do was to disable the Amikit splash image in WBStartup and ShowAmiga96 in the startup-sequence.
I have a Bash script in the works that generates an Amiberry compatible hdf from the Amikit installation files, if you're interested. It requires FS-UAE and cabextract to be installed and probably only works in Linux.

You have to create a normal folder. I gave it the name Amikit PI, then I entered this folder under WINUAE.
Winuae started copying the entire contents of AmikitXE into the Amikit Pi folder.
This then renamed to AmikitXE.
Raspberry started and the AmikitXE folder was copied to the SD card with FileZilla.
Important the folders Dropbox and Rabbithole must also be copied.
Oh completely forgot that in the WBSTARTUP
Deactivate Amikit splash image and ShowAmiga96 in the start sequence.

Diesen dann umbenant in AmikitXE.

Hello when I had tested everything, that everything ran without errors,
I've created a 5GB hdf under winuae and all of the content
copied into there.
And copied to a newly created SD card.
Here is a fine guide to creating an hdf from Franky Byte

Everything under amibian 1.5

Hello, on the Raspberry 4, take the monitor input next to the power supply.
I haven't changed the resolution on the Raspberry.
In Amikit I set 1280 x 800 16 bit.

@Guenter. Thanks for the reply and sorry for not acknowledging earlier.
How is your Amikit Pi going? Have you tried using any video playback using it? Do you use Rabbit Hole to use VLC, or is that not available in the Linux build of the host OS?

This may be a crazy idea, but I want to use an A600 case and keyboard I have, do/get some 3d printed backplates etc. and keyrah to use the keyboard, run Amikit on it and use it as a retro/old school media player and Amiga games machine; so would want to be able to play media from a dvd player. Someone tell me if this is nuts
