Hello,

After not using an Amiga for over 10 years I thought I would install
AmiKit,

Very good, But I managed to delete/uninstall Netsurf by mistake... opps,

I have D/L & installed NetSurf68k but when I run I get an error
unable to run tool "NetSurf"

Im running the latest version of Amikit.

Thanks for your help,

PS. im a bit rusty on the AmigaOS at the mo, Though I still have
my A1200 in a PowerTower with all the extra hardware inc.. IDE Power Flyer Gold, Squirrel Scisi interface, Apollo 030 16mb, 3.1 ROMS, OS3.5, 6GB Quantum Fireball Hard Drive, CDROM etc... But i have not switched it on for 10 years...

Thanks again,

Fat Bob

I tried typing a longer answer but this board said I was spamming when I tried to post

Anyway, are you using AmiKit with Amiga Forever ?

If it was me I would just uninstall-reinstall Amikit.

Not sure if its just my computer being annoying, but Netsurf seems a bit unstable, prone to locking up/crashing.

Then again, I should probarly get more familiar with it before I moan about it

I guess Netsurf is the most up to date browser for Amikit?
I and Abrowse/web are anicent, but a bit faster (less downloading i guess).

I see there are a Netsurf 2.9, but it require OS4. Works on Amikit?

Hi! NetSurf is the most up to date browser for Amiga, but you are right, it's a little bit unstable. The second choice is iBrowse which is old but still good.

AmiKit includes the very latest version of NetSurf (currently v2.8). The newer one (v2.9) is for OS4 only and won't work on AmiKit.

At first I couldn't find it by checking Netsurfs website, found it by going to AmigaWorld.net

Doesn't sound to promising to me.

iBrowse is the one I'd like to see updated but I guess that's never going to happen

Seems that Ibrowse is the only 1 working on my system ?
Aweb times out loading fonts
and Netsurf can not resolve the url

Are you using AmiKit with Amiga Forever or in stand-alone mode ?

You could always re-install AmiKit, that's what I did at one point when something wasn't working right.

I run AmiKit in stand-alone mode most of the time, but I do have it installed with AF 2012 too.

stand alone
I am trying to reinstall using the installer but it seems to be taking a looong time to compile the install script. Before I just copied the parts from ram to the installed location

OK, waiting for an hour for it to compile the install script and gave up
I don't have gcc installed,do I need it to it can make the install script ?
This is the first time I have tried to install Netsurf with an install script
before I just copy the files and it just worked ?
I can include a snoopdos log if needed
Thanks !
