USB Zip drive?

Hi, Folks,
AmiKit is amazing and this is my first forum post.
I have a SCSI Zip 100 drive running on my hardware Amiga, a towered A1200 with the Ateo bus system.
I also have a USB Zip drive lying around.
Is is possible to configure AmiKit to recognize the USB Zip so as to easily transfer files back and forth between the emulation and the physical Amiga? I am using an Aminet tool called Iotools to create the Zip mount list and control and format Zip disks on the Amiga as FFS. If I could get that going on AmiKit it'd be uber cool?
Your thoughts?
Thank!

Hi Rebbi and welcome to the forum!

I don't have such drive but I believe it should be easy to connect it to AmiKit.

In WinUAE/CD & Hard drives settings, you should be able to connect it as a regular directory. Click the «Add Directory or Archive», enter device name eg. ZD0, Volume label eg. ZIP and click the «Select Directory» to point to your ZIP drive. You won't even need any mount list on Amiga side then. The only possible disadvantage is that such approach would probably ignore Amiga specific file attributes and comments.

Or you can try to mount it as a regular Amiga hard drive by clicking on the «Add Hard Drive» button.

Thanks! So if I use the Hard Drive approach, would I then need a mount file?

Yes, I think so. It's like mounting it to a regular Amiga.
