Hi, what is the most stable Linux for AmiKitXE ?

AmiKitXE used to be very un-stable on LinuxMint19 in playonlinux/wine.

What is the recommended Linux (ubuntu, mint, manjaro, other) for AmiKitXE?

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the answer,

The un-stable behavior might be caused by third party amiga apps, that crashes amikit.

I have tested and found that third-party docks/dockbars like amidock and dockbot, can cause amikit to freeze/crash, and amikit seems more stable without third-party amiga apps.

Another thing is my pc´s CPU load hits around 90% when running amikit, maybe that also causes some freezes/crashes, at least I dont think it help amikit, that the cpu is that high. because its an old pc...

So if I install fewer third party amiga apps and in the future get a faster pc, it might give a more stable amikit in linux for me

I am trying to make default AmiKit as stable as possible with the existing pre-installed apps. I cannot guarantee the stability of other apps, though.

Anyway, you can always decrease the CPU power consumption in WinUAE/CPU settings. On a fast PC it is enough to set it to -50%

Hope it helps!

Hi, thank you for answers

AmiKitXE FINALLY seems stable/rock solid

I decreased the CPU to -50% in WinUAE as you suggested,
and changed to another linux (mx linux 19).

I run it in Windowed mode since mx linux have some problem with Fullwindow mode, when using RabbitHole programs.

But I FINALLY have my dream amiga (without using Windows10!!), its fast stable and I can use RabbitHole.

I love AmiKitXE on linux

AmiKit is still the best Amiga for modern browsing, not even real amiga systems have 100% modern browsers, AmiKit is SO cool!
