I'm currently writing a new article for the next issue of Amiga Power, French mag.
It's about:

- how to install AmiKit/WInUAE on a USB Key
- how to "speed up" AmiKit
- how to free space on AmiKit

French only, sorry.

Article is available in Amiga Power issue 38 (for french readers only)
I think, it could be online in a few weeks

Article is online!! (sorry french only)
Go to -> Amikit ->"Optimiser AmiKit"

May be, it'll be possible to translate it with a web translator.

Only available with PC version. (Amiga version is under construction)

Good Evening

Arrfff..... Stupid software!!!
I've forgotten that point.

I'll upload the article in .doc format. I think it'll be easier for translation.

Article in microsoft .doc format is online.

You can download it here

It should be translatable with any translator. Please keep me informed if you encounter any problem.

Very well done Eric! Congratulations.

I can convert it to PDF format if you want. In addition, it would be great to mention it in French news of the main AmiKit site. It is now possible to localize the news section as well (check the Czech one for example).

Thanks Jan!
Hope everbody can translate it. Sorry but my free time is actually very limited, no time for an english translation of this article.

You can convert it in PDF, it's a better format. Will it be still translatable ?

I'll try to translate news in french, no problem.

By the way, Ness sent me a new tutorial: Full explaination to install AmiKit on linux with E-UAE.

If he agree, i'll do the same method: article will be upload to my website and will translatable by everybody. I'm waiting his answer.

Hi everybody,

Ness, sorry for the mistake, I'm so tired.

Ness's article is online (pdf format). Visit AmiKit section on my website (only from PC side, Amiga side is not up to date)

Tell me if you encounter any problem.

Have a nice day! (another rainy day here )

I tried to get AmIkit working using wine on Mandriva but it does not start.
Guess I need to move the AmiKit/AmiKit dir to program files ?
Winuae/roms dirs are in allusers/Amiga files

create a file <Amiga> in the home
Copy the file system amikit and the kickstart 3.1 (rom) in the home / amiga

I translated a party{part} of the tutorial E-uae / linux of Amikit
I hope that you are going to understand (translation software)

Rom and memory :
You must search the kickstart 3.1 there
or you copied it.
For a good use of Amikit I checked the
chip has 8Mo and not of fast, reason is
simple, Amiga uses chip for the graphic
interface a lot. It is everything made
possible to put 2Mo in chip and the rest
in Fast, has you to see.
Z3 has 128Mo will give you a not
negligible comfort.
Ram of Picasso, there also you can
checked 8Mo because 16 or 32Mo will
give you nothing furthermore.

Add Hard Disk :
It simple percentage with this small
that your partition systeme well
whizz whizz all that simple
percentage listed above will be
inserted and will be thrown by the
emulator. <Select> to search the way
where simple percentage Amikit, in
<Device name> inscribe what you
want and ex:DH0 to show well that it
simple percentage the system.
In <Volume Name>, you must
inscribe the same name as the system, therefore <Amikit>. Other information , during research you found
the file and the name, click once over and if you see all directories appearing, click on <ok> .

from Amikit

Winuae under Wine/mandriva do not work very well, you must launch the emulator E-Uae 08.27 or 08.28 with the file of Amikit .
