I thought it might be interesting to give the upcoming AmiKit 1.5.0 release a code name, similarly to other products like Ubuntu and its list of code names...

Maybe something related to the big cats? Tiger, Toyger?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Cool idea!

My suggestion (has nothing to do with animals): Enterprise (like the starship)

I'm thinking of using Mars crater names:

Yeah, I've already thought about the names of cat breeds. There are so many, though.

California Rex, Sphynx, Egyptian Mau or Siberian sound interesting.

I like Elsa. It's a name of my cat, actually

What adjective, or any other word, can be used with Elsa? Big Elsa? Hmmm....

What about "EE": Elegant Elsa? I think that's the style the ubuntu folks name their releases.

how about 'Mikita', which is AmiKit with only the letter A moved to the end of the name!?

I go with Artha!

Mikita.

Here is why... first many of the other names have been used in the past by 'other' products, os's etc. Second, we want something that once it becomes known, people automatically equate to Amiga and AmiKit. Third, the play on the name AmiKit as Artha said!

That's my thoughts.

Glad you like it. In a way it was a collaboration of alanwall and me. Will we be mentioned in the credits?

Do you know a approx release date?

Greetings

If the given code name is chosen your names will be mentioned, of course.

Even though the package is almost complete, the few remaining bugs together with limited capacity to fix them push the release date to "When it's done" status, unfortunately.

Ok, no problem. I think everybody understands that. And as Amikit 1.4 works quite fine here, I don't really miss a thing. So, take the time it needs.
