Hi!

I'm now an ex Amiga user since many years but Amiga computers still have a place in my heart!
Recently, I've decided to install once again Workbench 3.9 under WinUAE.
But, my amiga knowledge has gone! Thinks were not so easy.

Suddently... Amikit arrives on my HD !!!!

Installation very easy, updated frequently.
Nothing to configure, ready to use... and it's beautiful

Very great job. keep on !!!

Hi!

It's a printed magazine but editions are stored on CD which can be bought.

Got to: http://amigapower.free.fr/main.html
It's in french

There's already a review of Amikit (for French users only, sorry)
http://obligement.free.fr/articles/amikit.php

My review will be a bit longer! ;-)

I just want to add my thanks for a great job here. I am running AmiKit on an AMD64 3200+, and it really does a fine job. I disabled Magellen, as I haven't a clue how to use it, and the emulation actually runs most things faster than my 060 A4000. I am amazed at the number of programs that work flawlessly. In fact, I can't really tell any difference in AmiKit and my A4000 except that I can now use the winders TCP/IP stack, etc. When I figure out printing, I'll be all set.

Thanks again,

RLFrost

Thank you very much RLFrost!I like this kind of messages :)

With regards to Magellan vs. Workbench, please read this thread:

Thanks for the reference. I had already noticed that I had to redo the file associations--amiga guide files for example. I plan to register Magellan simply for their support of this project, and for DOpus, which I still believe is the finest file manager on any platform period.

BTW, how do you handle printing? I suspect that I am going to have to move turboprint and ghostscript, but if there is a way to access the winders printers via amikit, I would like to know.

Thanks again.

RLFrost

Hi Amikit,

May be, but it's only in french.
Issue is not availbale at the moment. (in a few weeks ?)

I'll send you a private e-mail to contact the webmaster of Amiga Power (webmaster of Amiga Power and editor of the printed magazine)
I've already done it for France but for Slovakia or Czech, I don't know.

Bye
