amikit last update slowdown strongly,
I thought it was me who did it something wrong then i made some test :
i installed a fresh amikit 1.4 -> really fast (boot time 12 sec)
after i test an other fresh installation 1.4 to an other location and made an update to the last version -> big slowdown in fact it don't boot at all it doesn't display the workbench, it saty on the boot screen.
Then i came back to gui and change the hard drive location to the fresh 1.4 and it works again really fast.
What's going on with the last update ? I don't think i did something wrong.
Nobody report it that's why i did the test and that's why it looks strange.
With my old install all is going down with the last update 1.4.3 and like you saw with the fresh one it fails to boot after the update.

i finally succeed to boot but it was so slow more than 1 min to boot perhaps 2 or 3 after rebooting winuae it loads really fast like usual what's going on ?
With the 1.4 version even the first boot is fast.

Remember that the first start of AmiKit after updating might take up to several minutes.

The first start of AmiKit after updating will take much longer because the updated files need to be extracted during the startup. Check the disk activity and DO NOT turn off the AmiKit before it boots to desktop.

This is also mentioned in the readme file of the update that shows up in Live Update window.

i did once again a fresh install wait for it to boot to the end, but it still really slower for me, in the workbench, during boot time first launch.
The version 1.4 is really much faster

What is slower exactly? The Workbench or boot process?

the two, but the most impressive is the boot after a rebbot of my computer and the time to display all icons that's are not displayed directly you know you must select display all icons, and amistart.
Once again noproblem with 1.4.
I will make more test later,i'm making a defrag of my hard disk, but i don't think this is the matter.
We'll see, but thanks for your help.
perhaps you change the filesystem or something like this ?
Perhaps i could try to comeback to the oldone (1.4).Tell me how to do this ?
I'll try
