There are several ways to do it with WinXP, the 2 most common are:

1) Create a shortcut to WinUAE in the StartMenu Startup folder. Edit the shortcut and change the Target string to ""C:\Program Files\Emulators\WinUAE\winuae.exe" -f "../WinUAE/Configurations/A4000.UAE" -s use_gui=no". Change the path and config name to suit your installation.

2) Enter the following into notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"AmiKIT"=""C:\\Program Files\\Emulators\\WinUAE\\winuae.exe" -f "../WinUAE/Configurations/A4000.UAE" -s use_gui=no"

Save as AmiKIT.reg, then double click the file to import it into the registry.

If you're feeling really adventurous Google for instructions on replacing the XP shell. Then you'll go straight into AmiKIT without a Windows Explorer desktop.
