After XP freh install -> uaescsi.device error

Hi Jan,

after I installed a fresh XP on my PC, I installed Amikit again and then copied my backup folder \Amikit_backup\Amikit (which contains C, Classes, Demos, ...) over the new installed Amikit. But after starting Amikit I always get the error message "Cache CDFS: Cannot open "uaescsi.device" unit 0". Well, OS3 starts, but looks damn ugly now and is not really usable ...

I hope you can help!

Thanks a lot in advance!

Are you sure your XP system contains CD-ROM drive? If there is no CD-ROM (or DVD-ROM) drive, simply remove CD0 and CD0.info files from AmiKit\Devs\DOSDrivers folder (or move them to AmiKit\Storage\DOSDrivers if you want to use CD later).

Yes, my system still has its CD-ROM drive. But removing the files you suggested helped, thanks a lot! I think the problem is, that my CD drive is not mounted as D: in XP right now but J: I assume WinUAE wants the drive to be D: I have to change that.

Thanks a lot for your great and quick help!

Good night!
