Frankly, I have no idea what's wrong. Maybe it's because of the Windows 2000? WinUAE officialy supports WinXP and Vista only.

This is strange, because I had Amikit running on Win2000 before with no problems, but I was forced to re-format my HD, and so I went through all the usual procedures.
Like Installing WinUAE (latest version) then Amikit 1.4.0. having the ROM 3.1 there.
So I just dont understand why this is now happening.

Try to un-install the WinUAE and then AmiKit as well and re-install the AmiKit only.

You beat me to it.
A simple rename of a partition from AmiKit to Amiga done the trick.
