Can anyone help with this ... ?
I installed CandyFactoryPro but when I d-click the icon I get an alert message:-
Unable to open your tool 'CandyFactoryPro'

This is the only programme installed so far that has this problem.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Odd that a demo would work when my full purchased won't.
Anyone have any ideas?

Did you try to download the demo, install and start it, too? Does this work for you or do you get the same error?

Please check the attributes of the files. Switch the lister to the name mode, scroll the content to the right so you can see the attributes. All the files should be RWED. If not, mark all the files and select and add those attributes from window's drop down menu (the down arrow located in upper right part of the window).

@Clyde
I hadn't but I have since downloaded, installed and started the demo.

@Amikit
All files except the .info were RWED but even after setting that it made no difference.

I am getting a little flustered about this I have done a reinstall several times over to no avail.

Thanks for the suggestions ... hope someone has the bright idea that solves the puzzle.

It is strange that it won't even launch the program.

Can you post a listing of the files in that dir?

BTW to test the demo version I installed it to its own directory as a complete install. When it ran OK I copied the executable and the .info files into the installed full version to see what would happen, assuming it would use all the files from there. It runs OK, of course still as demo. Not sure what this says but someone might know.
I hope that makes sense.

I suggest to try

A: How much free ram does your AmikitOS have btw?
(CandyFactoryPro eats a lot of memory)

You might simply have forgot to set your winuae config to 64MB of ram or more.

B: Turn off JIT. CandyFactory will be unusably slow but at least you will know if it can start up or not.

C: Load the program NOT from Magellan desktop but instead boot amikit with either a plain workbench desktop or a Scalos desktop THEN load the program.

Does that work?

D: Edit the icon to have a huge stack. Maybe stack=2000000

If you can get it running then please feel free to make some gfx for my Amiga game with CandyFactory
It r0x!

@ChaosLord

Thanks for your suggestions ...

A: Ram was set as default WinUAE
ie Chip 2MB Slow none Fast none Z3Fast 128MB
However I checked out the WinUAE site and following their guide have bumped RAM up to
Chip 8MB and Z3 Fast 1 GB

RTG Graphics I bumped up from 32 MB too

B: turned off JIT and everything crawls

C: Wasn't sure how to do that but just Quit Dopus and ran from Workbench .. CandyFactoryPro didn't start .. there was no error popup .. just nothing happened

the demo started OK

D: set the stack to your suggested figure

All up we're still stuck ...

I do appreciate the help and welcome any further suggestions.
First JIT should be on while you are booting up your AmikitOS or Workbench or whatever.

Then turn JIT off right before you try to launch CandyFactory.

Does Candy Factory start up? (Might take it 5-10 mins to see if it started or not)

JIT has known bugs that stop lots of software from working. That is why this test is important.

Maybe its an icon problem.
Try running it from shell.
cd MyCandyFactoryProDir/
stack 2000000
run CandyFactoryPro
What happens?

Ok so leave JIT enabled in WinUAE setup to start Amikit. But then how do I stop it? Flip back to WinUAE??
